This stool is pure Northern Works: made from recycled materials, trying a bunch of new techniques for the first time, and creating something beautiful that we use every day in our home.
With 8 million Christmas trees sent to landfill every year in the UK alone, I wanted to send one less this year, and see what I could create from our 6ft centre-piece. The result is two beautiful stools, in completely different styles: One rustic, one modern.
Using new techniques including bow ties, epoxy and wedge tenons, building these little beauties stretched my skills and my patience. In the end, I love the results.
